The Tide
The edge of the water keeps moving, so stand where it is now and face the way it is going.
The card
A woman stands barefoot at the very edge of the sea. The waves are coming in, and the line where wet sand meets dry sand is never in the same place twice. She does not step back from it. She pours water from a silver bowl into the waves as they reach her.
Above her, a full moon shines through drifting purple clouds. Starfish lie on the sand, left there by the last tide. The night is calm.
Essence
The Tide is the rhythm of coming and going: giving and receiving, holding and letting out. Nothing about it is fixed. What goes out comes back, and what arrives will leave again. The card does not ask you to stop that motion. It asks you to move with it, and to add your own small share to it, the way she pours her bowl back into the sea.
For today
Watch where your own waterline is today. Something is coming in or going out: a task, a mood, a conversation. You cannot pin the edge to one spot, and you do not need to.
Ask yourself which way the water is moving, not where it will stop. Then take one step in that direction and pour something in: a reply you owe, an hour of work, a kind word. The point is not to reach a finished shore. It is to keep your feet at the edge as it moves, and to keep giving from where you stand.
