The Candelabra
Hold still for a moment, and the light you already carry will show you the path.
The card
A woman stands on a pale stone path at night. She holds a tall silver candelabra up in one hand, and its five candles are lit. Her arm is raised and still. The flames stand straight, so the air around her must be calm, and so must she.
White roses grow thick on both sides of the path. Behind her, the path runs back to a small stone chapel with a green door. Bare trees frame a sky full of stars. The candles are the warmest thing in the scene, and the garden lies pale in their glow.
Essence
The Candelabra is light carried out into the dark. Five flames rise from one stem: many ways of understanding, held together by a single hand. The light was lit in the chapel and brought out into the world, where the night is deepest. The card says each of us carries a flame, for our own path and for the people walking near us.
For today
Look at her hand. A candle that is swung about gutters and throws jumping shadows. Held still, it burns tall and lights the path evenly. The light was already in her hand when she left the chapel. What she needs now is a steady arm.
Today, ask yourself: what do I already understand about this, if I stop moving long enough to see it? Before you search for a new answer, stand still for a few minutes. Let your thoughts settle the way the flames settle when the air is calm.
Then look at what that steady light shows. It may be something you knew last week and forgot in the rush. Take the next step by that light, and keep your hand quiet while you walk.
